What a gorgeous set of colours on this beauty ...
Spotted growing wild at the bottom of some bushes in Bristol city center while out on our location workshops.

365:043 Without
Stairs at the back of St Michael Archangel on the Mount Without, on St Michael's Hill Bristol ... Three of us were sent to this beautiful but derelict and disused church to do some on-location work, so I took lots of photos.
Why "Without"? Because it's the opposite of "within" - when it was originally built, it was outside of the Bristol city walls ...

365:042 Birthday Boy
Sunshine listening to "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" on Radio 4 ... a special edition to mark the passing of one of our favourite presenters and Jazz musicians, Humphrey Lyttelton.
Me self indulgently practising taking portraits of my favourite model on his birthday ;)
More pictures of Sunshine wearing his new floral shirt (that I chose!):

365:041 Wheee!!!
We went for a walk to Leigh Woods nature reserve today, and along the way found a tree swing.
Look at Sunshine go! Wheeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday for tomorrow Sunshine! Love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And on the way back we walked across the suspenders, OOPS... I mean Clifton Suspension Bridge... What??!!?? They let people climb this thing???
Note: Sunshine on the Nikon, and the others on the Canon.

365:040 Nothing
"I am afraid of nothing" ....except perhaps that funny blue reflection in the window ...
Remember "Today"? This is part of the same set of installations dotted around the new Bower Ashton campus development.
Note: I've geotagged this photo, but on the satellite map (as of today) the building doesn't exist yet - so this is in the middle of a patch of green!

365:039 Rosie & Jim
"Rosie and Jim, Rosie and Jim, chuggin' along on the old ragdoll"
Rosie and Jim seen on the Energie, one of the barges on Bristol's harbourside.
Also by the harbourside, the old railtracks:

365:038 Laundry
Its so lovely to be able to hang the laundry out to dry in the sun. Makes me appreciate the weather, and the fact that we now have a back garden (something I've missed for the last 15 years).
The rows and rows of pegs caught my attention too ... looking like little table-football players...
And while I was outside drawing and staring at the laundry, this chap came flying overhead, squaking away ...
Note: Laundry on the Nikon, pegs and gull on the Canon.

365:037 Goldfinch
This is not one of my best photos ... but I don't care! I love birds and I just happened to chance on the sweet twittering of this fellow while walking to the library today. Looked up and saw him on a branch just above me. I'm habitually carrying a camera round with me nowadays and managed to get just one shot before he flew away ...
What a lovely surprise to see him again once I uploaded everything when I got home. That blue behind him? It's the sky; as I was shooting from below. Amazing sky we've had here in Bristol today too ...

365:036 Warrior
We seem to have inherited a substantial chunk of Sunshine's parents' ex-garden ... including this not-very-little Chinese warrior ... who will no doubt protect our garden from the marauding neighbourhood cats ...
Other things we've inherited:

365:034 Better
"Nowhere better than this place"
This is what it says on the poster that hangs above our bed .. and at this point in time in my life, I couldn't agree more :)

365:034 Park
This is the park I walk through on the way to and from college. Its been a really gloomy day (compared to all the lovely sunshine of the last couple of weeks), but my walk is just as lovely as always ... :)

365:032 Cranes
"29, 30, 31, 32"
These old electric cranes by the Bristol dockside are some of my favourite things in the city. Sunshine and I took a walk down there this evening as the sun was setting and we both took photos ... I think there are more potential shots but it was SOOOO cold, we had to stop.

Water rolling over an edge and into a grate...

365:030 Specs
"Have you lost yours?"
There is this house (or I THINK it's a house ... might be an ex-shop) down the road from us. It doesn't look like the houses either side, and looks almost abandoned - but not. It has a large bay window with a collection of little cactus like plants - they're still alive; which is what makes me think that the house isn't quite abandoned yet ... but then again, cacti can live without watering for a while ... hmmmmm.
The window, and clear glass door next to it is covered by these funky retro orange curtains; and in the door hangs this pair of spectacles, with the message "if these spectacles are yours, please knock + ask for them or ring 9663453".
Thing is, this thing has been there at least since we moved into the neighbourhood more than half a year ago ... we walk past it all the time and I'm SO tempted to call the number to find out if isn't an obscure fine art installation!
Curious ...

365:029 Disaster
I was on the verge of tears on Saturday night after having spent 4 hours peeling these off with a pair of tweezers (the grid is one inch square...), then having the laser cut fabric letters that they were backing just disintegrate in my hands ...
What a disaster ...
So today, before I cleared my desk out now that that particular project is over, I thought I'd take some macro shots of the letters... if you notice, I was trying to write 'love' ... but I couldn't find a 'v' ... so you get 'disaster' instead, which is actually more apt I think ...

365:028 Severn
Severn Bridge from Severn Beach ... actually the 'Second Severn Crossing'.
Where we went to collect the new lens for the Nikon, and which was used to take these photos ...

365:027 Charge!
"Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrgge!!!!!"
William the III at Queens's Square ...
No - no image manipulation - just taking a shot into the light (the sun is just being blocked by the statue). In all honestly I'm surprised this picture came out - I thought I'd get a silhouette ...
From another direction:
"Why your majesty, it appears you have been graffitied ..."
And another:

365:023 Today
"Today, is going to be a very bright day ..."
They installed this lamp post at the college Bower Ashton Campus ... it wasn't there this afternoon when I went in; and it had appeared this evening when I was heading back ... I LOVE IT!
Aren't art schools fab ?!?
