No strings attached and no image manipulation .... uuuUUUuuu ...

In reality this is part of us testing the photo studio we've set up in the dining room so we can take photos for Sunshine's follow up book to this one he wrote and self-published last year...

365:132 Lambretta

365:132 Lambretta, originally uploaded by planetmithi.

There always seems to be some Lambrettas parked outside the Arnolfini cafe - or maybe they have a once a month Bristol Lambretta gathering or something. More than the bikes, I love the many MANY mirrors they all seem to have - reminds me of bug eyes ...

Spotted whilst out to watch this:

Ketchup vs Soy Sauce

West vs East

This is the aftermath of this 'food fight' staged in front of the Arnolfini Gallery as part of its its 'Far West' exhibition ... Not too sure what to make of it ...

The reason you I have no pictures of the actual fight is because Sunshine had the camera AND I was actually a little too short to get a good view ...

Also saw this along the harbourside - Oh Yes Baby, We sure can still be Friends ...

365:129 Sweet Pea

365:129 Sweet Pea, originally uploaded by planetmithi.

We planted LOTS of sweet pea seeds earlier this summer (or late last spring?). So many that despite a substantial number of shoots being gobbled up by the garden snails, we still managed to keep quite a few - and they all seem to be blooming at the moment. The garden is filled with little blossoms of pink, purple and white :)

365:128 Raven, originally uploaded by planetmithi.

We went down towards Chew Valley Lake today to run an errand for Sunshine's parents. The lake is a man made reservoir, and you get lots of people stopping to do birdwatching. there were all manner of waterfowl to be seen but I was more interested in this black crow/raven by the water's edge ...

Camping holiday - day 5

Time to go home :(

On the way home we drove through the Dartmoor National Park in Devon. You have to drive really carefully as there are sheep and miniature ponies roaming free on the moors. They are SO CUTE ... and come right up to you if you stop the car ;)

Camping holiday - day 4

Today was an absolutely smashinly sunny day, so we decided to take a walk from the campsite along the coastal path by us. 5 whole hours of going uphill and downhill some quite rough terrain, but with absolutely beautiful views. Half way along the route is Dodman Point, where you find the stone cross.

Last night we met a man who was setting up a teepee near our camp site. This morning Sunshine and I went and helped him set the 22 foot thing up! (well Sunshine helped, while I took lots of photos...).

Camping holiday - day 2

We were camping on the south coast of Cornwall, but were close enough to drive across to St Ives in the north coast today. Spent the day at the Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum. St Ives is a gorgeous fishing port and I had to take some photos of the fishing boats :)

"Damn, I've got stuff stuck all over my bee-hind!"

This fellow was in the neigbours' garden and I had to climb up on some bricks to get close enough and get the camera over the high fence ...

Well worth it though ...

Up close and personal with a blue morpho butterfly ...

I decided to take a trip up to the Bristol Zoo today; equipped with the SLR and a macro lens. Oh what a joy to use!

The butterfly house (that is open every summer) was up too so I got a little over excited :) ... See the best of my several hundred photos here (in our joint account).

"Up up and Aawaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay..."

We decided to go for a walk up to Ashton Court today, and found ourselves watching lots of people taking of in hot-air balloons. There were 9 in the air at one point ... one of the really lovely things about Bristol ...

Some other things spotted on our walk ...

Sunshine's sister and husband have just got themselves a GORGEOUS Burmese kitten called Monty ...

Oh.My.Goodness is he cute - he's the most well behaved cat that I've ever come across in my life. Sunshine's managed to take a whole load more beautiful photos of him ... hopefully he'll upload them soon.

Mmmm... we're very kittified at the moment :)

One of my favourite developments though is the Quentin Blake initiated "Museum of Illustration". Can't WAIT for this to be ready :)

No, this isn't my engagement ring. We still haven't found one I like - or that fits - but this is the one I was wearing round the New Designers private view tonight.

You can't see the big gap between the ring and my finger at the bottom - I have to clamp it with the other two adjacent fingers to keep it from turning upside down, or falling off!

365:114 King's X, originally uploaded by planetmithi.

In London, staying in a hotel (yes ...we had PLENTY of people to stay with, but college was paying for Sunshine to be here), for New Designers.

View out our window - and what you can't see, which is directly below if you look out that window is the tube tracks. No sound proofing. 5am starts.

We highly WOULDN'T recommend anyone staying there ...

365:112 Chores

365:112 Chores, originally uploaded by planetmithi.

Sunshine told me a story (from this film/mini series) which involves a lady who, when her husband dies, finds the household jobs too overwhelming, so writes them all down on bits of paper and puts them in a jar. So, she can pick one piece at random at a time and just concentrate on doing that! (Mr postman then helps her do the jobs).

What a lovely idea - so here you have it, our "super jam jar of pink chores", filled with things like 're-organise the space under the stairs', 'sort out the hanging of at least two frames on the walls', and 'deal with the living room curtains' :)

We're both very excited by this - I might actually make a jam jar of yellow treats filled with things like 'have some ice cream' which we are allowed to pick if we manage to get any of the pink ones done ...

365:111 Fresh

365:111 Fresh, originally uploaded by planetmithi.

This fellow was probably happily swimming in Chew Valley Lake yesterday - and tonight he's our supper!

So so fresh ... bought at a local organic/health food shop that supplies local fish too. We've only recently discovered this place; only to find out that they're shutting down soon (and hence this fish - which could easily feed 4 people - cost all of £2.50! Yes, we bought another one to freeze...).

Its such a shame for this shop - "hard times" she said... if only they were at the other end of the street where all the young couples and families into their fresh, low food miles, organic, healthy food, shop; they would have done brisk business. Instead they were at the end of the street where the locals didn't appreciate fresh fish from just a few miles down the road and instead thought McDonalds was a decent meal ... so sad ...

Still, we had a fab dinner of very fresh fish seasoned with just salt, pepper, a bit of lemon juice and lots of bay leaves ... mmmm... yummy ...
